Hosiery, Turtlenecks, T-shirts, & Shorts

Yesterday, I tried to sell you on the benefits of wearing turtlenecks. Today, I will share some tips on buying and some suggestions on how to match them with your t-shirts and shorts. Read the remainder of my post for more info.

The first tip is to try to match each colour of the turtleneck to the exact colour of of a pair of your hosiery. For example, buy a white turtleneck for a white pair of hosiery, and a black turtleneck for a black pair of hosiery. You can't always do this for colourful hosiery, but try to do it for the most commonly worn colours and for the colours that you would wear with a repeatedly worn costume. If you are on a budget like me, then you could cut corners by only having a few basic coloured turtlenecks. In that situation, I recommend, white, grey, black, blue, and brown. I only have white, black, and blue, but I will buy more when I get a steady income.

The second tip is to get skin tight turtlenecks. Hosiery is a skin tight garment that can have a very sporty look to it, so having a skin tight top will coordinate well with that theme. Do not worry about it being revealing, because you would wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt or sweater over it. It is not essential that your turtlenecks be skin tight, but skin tight turtlenecks look sportier when worn with short sleeved shirts.

The third tip is to get some t-shirts and shorts that also match the hosiery and turtlenecks. You would do this, so that you can mix and match the 4 items.

The fourth tip is to choose 3 colours when planning an outfit. For example, you could wear a blue shirt over a white turtleneck. To match that, you could wear white hosiery to match the white turtleneck, or blue hosiery to match the blue shirt. You could even match the hosiery colour with the colour of the shorts. The same thing goes for other colours. The colour matched clothing comes in handy also whenever you need everything to be the same colour.

So, I advise you to buy turtlenecks, and to think about the colour, and a snug fit. Also, remember to think about how your shorts will fit into your wardrobe.

Do you already do these things? Do you plan to wear turtlenecks?
